Aesthetics
The basis of what you are required to do in this course is as follows:
1) Study the big questions of each area of philosophy.
- Summarize the ideas of important philosophers as they relate to the big ideas.
- Use the ideas of these philosophers to examine the big questions.
- Compare ideas and schools of thought in answering these questions.
2) Come to your own conclusions on the matter, by accepting, rejecting, or synthesizing the ideas of philosophers / schools of thought, and relating them to your own experience in the world.
3) Apply this understanding to a modern / world / current issue in the world, in an effort to reach a conclusion about action / inaction / knowledge, or truth.
